(Sinclair ZX81) Rad Man

Sinclair Radiation LLC builds nuclear plants controlled by refurbished ZX81 boards. Predictably, one of those ZX81s failed, and a horrible leak happened. Workers now remain trapped, while brainless mutants, products of radiation, roam the troubled plants. You, Rad Man, an expert in nuclear disasters, have been called to rescue the workers from the disaster site.

You wear a special suit armed with “rads,” an anti-radiation substance that can also be used to defeat mutants that stand in your way. But be careful, because if you run out of rads, you will be killed by radiation, and your mission will be over.

While mutants won’t attack you directly, they will chase you and stand in your way, eventually surrounding you completely. Also, most workers are trapped behind walls, but you can use TNT to blast walls that stand in your way to the rescue. To kill a mutant or bomb a wall, walk into it and press fire at the same time. 

There are a total of ten workers trapped in each nuclear plant, and each plant has more than 100 rooms. There are four plants, and you can choose in which to start. Each start has a different layout, and more advanced plants have tougher mutants, taking more rads to kill.
